Nate
Shelkey is first and foremost, a Virginian. After that he is an
actor-writer-musician(hyphenate!) who moved to New York City because
it was more exciting than Virginia.
Nate started improvising in 2001. In addition to the loveable
Wiener Dog, he performs at the Upright Citizen's Brigade with
the house team Arsenal. It is also possible to spy him at Variety
Underground.
He has appeared on television on ESPN in Kenny Mayne's The Mayne
Event, the PBS mini-series Windy Acres, MTV's Damage Control,
and a brilliantly nuanced performance as a Secret Serviceman on
Jeff Foxworthy's Roast for Comedy Central.
It is not inconceivable to see Nate whoring himself in a commercial
from time to time. Finally, he is singer/songwriter who writes
hooky pop with his band, Huckleberry
Slim.
